How is the Lasso MSA doing?

Devin,

Here is a brief summary of how it works:
1. Member presents Lasso Healthcare MSA card at point of service. There is a $0 copay for primary and specialist, etc. We prefer that the member not pay at POS, but theoretically, they can and then get reimbursed later, if they overpay.
2. Provider bills Lasso. Lasso adjusts the claim to lesser of Medicare allowable rates or actual charges and sends the EOP (explanation of payment) to the provider. If under the deductible there is no payment from Lasso Healthcare, if over the deductible, the EOP includes payment to the provider.
3. Provider bills Member the allowable amount under the deductible. Member can pay with the deposit money (via debit card) or other funds. If member paid at POS, the provider would need to refund them.
4. Lasso Healthcare provides a monthly EOB (explanation of benefits) to the member the month following the claims month (we mail EOB's in February for January claims).

Additionally, the member can call our member service line regarding claims questions!

Thanks, Craig, your team did not explain it to me quite this simply. Looking to do more next aep with LASSO.

Question, for your top LASSO producers are they having success selling HIP products with it?

Devin,

Forgot to mention, we also have a provider guide that's a little more detail. Here is a link: https://lassohealthcare.com/documents/H1924_2019ProvGuideAll6_C_WEB.pdf It can also be found on the documents page of Lasso (link might change next year): Lasso Healthcare

We advise members to take this with them, if possible. We also send it to member in their "Welcome Kit".

Yes, many of our agents are using a HIP to fill the member responsibility piece. SPOILER ALERT: We will have a new product coming out by next AEP!!

Thanks to all the agents who helped us! We spent virtually $0 marketing, so 90%+ of our enrollment came through independent agents (some folks found us via press releases or through Medicare publications/website or search).

Doesn't sound like much, but we were pleased with this result. New plans generally have a tough time out of the gate.

Importantly, we funded 1,254 MSA accounts and paid broker commissions on 1/2/19. We had about 100 additional that we worked through in January (RFI's mostly).

We filed our 2020 application today, so more on that in 5 months or so!
Please pass along thanks to Bill Thomas at Lasso. I enrolled 25 in Lasso so far and only had one problem: MD Anderson hospital in Houston refused to accept the plan, as they do not take any MA plans and initially weren't moved by the MSA plan not having provider networks like other MA plans. Bill got your contracting people involved and after a couple of weeks working with them got an agreement letter in place. I was assured they would get it worked out and I was impressed that everyone there stayed on it until it was done.

Appreciate the business and I will pass on to Bill and provider team! It's quite helpful to hear of possible issues so we can address quick.

Lasso released our 2020 Medicare MSA benefits and service area expansion today, along with cross-walks for agent use only. We also opened up our 2020 Certification process.

We cannot post the 2020 benefits to a public website, but if any insurance agents would like to see them, please PM me!

I'm at the national NAHU convention in San Diego, but I'll try to get them to you ASAP!

Thanks for everyone's support and understanding that we cannot post 2020 benefit information to a public website due to CMS Communication and Marketing Guidelines!

Craig, on your new quoting platform it looks like we lost the enrolled beneficiaries on each mapd plan/ quoter. Is there another way to access this on your site?

Devin,

It's coming back soon. Maybe a week. In the meantime, if you are logged in, you can try and access our "insight" tool by logging into our website first and then going to Ritter Insurance Marketing

I think you should be able to view enrollment data there for every county with expandable graphs!

Question for Lasso appointed agents: Is your contract direct with the Lasso MSA, or are commissions paid by your FMO/IMO
