I have life, health, Series 63, 65, 7. If I want to become independant, do I need t contract with one General Agency?
Which General Agency you may recommend in New York area?
( according to commission pay schedule, support, ....)
New York has some of the worst insurance regulations regarding compensation (that's where the 55% limit came from) and other crap like full compensation disclosure, etc.
Insurance companies usually set up completely separate divisions just to do business in New York.
If I were you, I'd go to your nearest NAIFA meeting and ask around. You need a specific recommendation that's unique for that state.
There's always the standard career agencies, but those aren't independent options.
It all depends on your experience level. Are you looking to go independent after success as a captive agent? Do you need a ton of support? What is your primary area of focus?
