I Am Looking for Some Guidance in Starting Out

I just got my L&H and I am currently working at a call center selling health policies for one company. This postion ends after the initial enrollment period and I would love to start selling on my own also. I've already spoken to my employer and they hired us and had us licensed with the full understanding that we would also try to sell on the side.
I am trying to come up with a good plan that I can execute in order to succeed but I am needing a bit of help. I am in Central Texas.

1. Is it advisable to start out on your own and get appointed to companies, or should I use an IMO or FMO. ..?

2. I hardly have any money for start up. I can buy my e&o and can afford maybe 100-125 a week. Sometimes maybe only 75. Any tips on how to do this right but economically?

3. Any companies that I should stay away from?

Any other tips and advice is greatly appreciated!
