Sounds like the poor guy has just had a run of bad luck,,,through no fault of his own.

As far as your "friend" goes, alcohol is clearly not his/her friend. His/her focus should be on figuring out a solution to their problem before they kill someone, kill themselves, or end up in prison.

Once your "friend" has a solid, serious, well researched, realistic, permanent, medically proven plan to deal with their lethal problem, then they can think about their career choice.

So, once this problem is dealt with, I have seen people with criminal histories given appointments and licenses. However, those people have proven rehabilitation.

I would say he could work as a sanitary engineer and drive a truck... but...

Oh wait... has he tried working as a community organizer... great way to work in politics and then who knows what could happen... we might just elect him as president someday.

In my state, if you get 3 DUI's, you loose your license permanently (can' drive in fla., with 3 DUI's).
