In Network National Coverage

There are some PPO Mapd plans that are available. HMO's have tight local markets, but PPO plans generally have local markets and national markets (Humana and UHC have PPO plans) as well as higher prices for out of network doctors and hospitals.

All depends on where the prospect lives for more than 6 months out of the year.

Humana PPO Travel Benefit
Agents should have a clear understanding of the PPO U.S. Travel Benefit.
All of Humana’s PPO plans, both local and regional, have a U.S. travel benefit. Beneficiaries have access to providers in the Humana
Medicare Choice PPO network in all of our service areas. If a member is traveling, within another PPO service area and needs nonemergency
care, they can call Customer Service who will provide the member with names of in-network providers that the member
can see. Even though the member will be out of the service area of their plan, they will only have to pay the cost share for services
that would be required as if they were at home in their plans service area.
If the member chooses to see a provider that is not in Humana’s Medicare Choice PPO network, the member will have out-ofnetwork
(OON) coverage. Providers of these out-of-network services must simply agree to accept Medicare assignment rates and bill
Humana. If a member goes out of network their cost share is higher.
