I am leaving a captive life insurance company after 5 years. What are the consequences if I replace one or two of the policies after resigning my contract. At what point, they would would decide to sue me?

Why replace? If you are going indepedent you need to develop new sales. I have not replaced a policy in 15 years, and that was only because it was in fact the best deal for the client and the policy they had was not too old.

Once you get a reputation for replacing, it will come back to bite you. I wouldnt even go there. Just speaking from experience.

You need to concentrate on new sales as an independent. Your clients will still be your clients, if you rely on replacing their policies to make it, you will probably fail as an independent.

Work on finding a new market and concentrate your efforts on mastering it and the clients and referrals will flow.
