Looking for a Great Company to Contract with

Nope. I am not an MGA. I am just grateful to have found a good one. ---------- I was not clear that the original request was for an FE MGA. Sorry for the confusion. I am not an MGA - I simply work with MGA's who take fully underwritten cases, and am fortunate to have found a really good one. I made the suggestion because I like to help new brokers build their careers.

Usually on this forum everyone gets a little bit jaded to see "helpful" recommendations that won't come out and post the info. That is a tactic used over and over by sleazy marketers with the old "I like my guys and there is nothing in it for me but to get the info you need to contact me. "

Marketers that are more up front about what they are doing do well here if they are offering value.

Also happy agents who just want to recommend the service they had a good experience with and just give a good clear recommendation are always appreciated.

It's when the "I've got a good one but you need to contact me to find out who it is " stuff goes on that agents who aren't fresh off the turnip truck start getting suspicious.

Not saying that you had any motives like that but that's how it comes across.

I appreciate the comments posted. I value all opinions. Today I wrote $12,297.00 in annualized premium with 20 contracts. This is a pretty typical day for me. In the last seven months I have gone from a newbie to the top agent out of several hundred agents. My closing percent today was 100%. If i talked with you today you bought a policy. I am now looking to this community for advise. Again, thank you for all replies.

Any info on where they're getting this volume and quality of leads for you would be GREATLY appreciated.

I guess I was confused by your "MY BROKERAGE" link and website.

That link (along with the Napoleon Hill quote and the links to both my blog and my latest article on ProducersWeb) is part of my signature, it appears at the bottom of all my posts. Sorry for the confusion.

I am an independent producer with a long love for life insurance; I practically grew up in my father's general agency. I started out with a career company and now own & operate a life insurance brokerage. I sell in 48 states. When I reach out to other brokers on these threads, I'm trying to share the lessons I have learned along the way.

I have a very good relationship with my MGA. However, I specifically try to avoid coming across as an evangelist for a single company, so in threads like these I just try to share the details of what I look for in an MGA... however, maybe the questioner will find a different MGA that meets their own requirements! And if someone’s really curious as to the MGA I use - they are always free to PM me. Make sense?

Truth be told, over the years I have used multiple MGA’s and have found that the choice of distributor is critical in the sales process. There are many out there, and at this point in time a few of them are significantly altering their service platform to attract business from brokers. Concierge underwriting services are a prime example of the new wave of amenities that are now available. I happen to think they are a great development because they help those of us who are sales people at heart to focus on sales, marketing, and customer service. That's why I think it's important for all brokers - but especially those new to our business - to be aware of these kinds of services as they organize their practice.

It’s true: I’ve developed a “package of services” (which includes the concierge services of the MGA I use) that I definitely think are useful to agents, brokers, and advisors. However, I do not feel that threads like this one are appropriate places to market my “package of services,” so I did not bring it up.

For sure, I have benefited over the years from the industry practice of getting a "finder's fee" from one MGA or another, if I refer another producer to them. However, this is not an upline arrangement and I never developed my sales organization to include sub-producers. Instead, I enjoying serving as a "mentor" for many brokers to help them organize their practice.
