Looking to Start an Independent P&C Agency

Looking for any advise on which avenue to take. I have looked at SmartChoice and Global Green Insurance. But Now learned about SIAA. I am a little confused. I am not sure which direction to take to start an IA. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have found that there are some folks on this site that do not like new agents/agencies trying to enter the industry. Do not take them personally they have attacked a few people on here.

Chatted with a friend using SIAA this morning. They have a buy out period instead of a non-compete like SC. He likes SIAA and had recently been at a regional meeting. Read the SC non-compete carefully, I believe it says you cannot use the same carriers for 2 years once you leave!

I am still investigating the others.

Of course nothing helps one get started like a book of business and a good CSR.
