MA Buyout/Contracting Question

I have reason to believe that Co B (which I'm currently contracted with) is being bought out by Co A, from which I was terminated for cause about 4 years ago. If this happens, do you think that Co A would transition me to sell the new unified MA product or would I be cancelled out completely as a result of the previous "for cause" termination from Co A?

I'm not a lawyer but I would think that if they bought a company they are in effect buying everybody they do business with.
Most of the time upper-management is the first to go. But if you met the requirements of the previous company and the new one takes over you should be fine. Don't panic. Norwayguy or Jbage007 would be good for this question, see what he says.

We've already talked about this, but here we go again. Think about it like this:

Each carrier has a list of agents they won't do business with anymore for whatever reason. For cause terminations SUCK and it's usually a big deal. If you are on either companies do-not-contract list then you are probably going to have problems getting contracted, but the exact details on that will vary depending on what happened and how the carrier feels about it.

You might also want to find a new line of work. CMS has their full on witch hunt, marketing is heavily restricted, and the commissions are getting hacked up. Overall, not a good landscape, and it doesn't look like it's going to get any better.

Two years ago I realized that IFP sales were going to go down the crapper. I feel the same way about MA plans and have a gut feeling that Med Sups won't be far behind. HHS already wants to look into those huge rate increases you can bet that the socialist pigs in DC will find a way to steal authority to regulate from the states.

Yes, I know that I already asked this. I'm trying to get more opinions on the situation. I actually now have 2 contracts that are being bought out. One of them is OK, but the other is questionable. The District Manager of Co. A is a self-loathing gay man married to a woman, who is very hateful and vindictive. I am sure that he is the one who put the screws to my "for cause" accusation.

Why do you want more opinions? Wouldn't it make more sense to talk to the carrier?

It hasn't happened yet, and I like to get input from others. who knows?. there may be someone out there with similar experiences or someone that has seen what has played out in this situation. I just like to be prepared and know as much about it as possible.

It just seems pointless.

No, nothing wrong with it at all. As long as you realize that just because one thing happened with one company doesn't mean that it will be the same for all companies.

I think at best all you are going to get is a WAG.
