Man, the Wait Times at the VA Sucks.

I have both private-group insurance and V.A. coverage. I've gone to the same V.A. doctor for the past 25 years for physicals and minor stuff. But for my recent/first colonoscopy, I went to a private hospital. Not comfortable with the VA doing internal exams yet.

I've been using the VA since 1985, mostly positive experiences. Had 2 colonoscopies through the VA, one done at Medical University of South Carolina, one at the VA hospital, each cost $50. All the VA docs are on faculty at MUSC. My current doc, who I have yet to meet face-to-face, called me to get lab work done because I was overdue. I have actually waited longer and had less thorough appointments in private practice.
I guess my main complaint is the parking.

I am also pretty happy with the dental insurance pilot programs offered by Metlife and another company, maybe Delta. No pre-ex, no waiting.

I am glad to hear some good experiences. All veterans are worthy to receive quality care.
