Medicaid and Assisted Living

Some states medicaid programs now allow payments to assisted living in addition to nursing homes. For ex, in Fla and NJ I am told this is true. Are these facitilites typically the bottom of the barrel or can they be fine as well?

You're going to have basic problem based on the math. Medicaid doesn't pay much and so facilities that do accept it consistently are going to be more poorly funded than their competitors. Could some be nice? Sure, but that's the root problem you're going to have.

Medicaid places are good for the $1,700/month crowd. A decent place is $4,000/month - minimum.
