Medicare Advantage coverage for groceries?

I saw that this morning. It's going to get very interesting this AEP seeing who provides the most additional benefits. I have several clients who swear by the $10 OTC benefit from Humana. Now we get to add groceries to the list. This is going to be fun!

If they like that benefit, show them the OTC/Health Benefit Card from UHC!

Has anyone seen or heard about any of what one carrier rep jokingly called, "sexy new benefits" for 2019? I've been going to the carrier meetings and doing the trainings/certifications and nothing yet mentioned about air conditioning, meals, etc added to MAPD.

I think it is only for duals.

Includes a free Obamaphone too.

TOO FUNNY! You probably have to go to Canada for that!

I have a friend who is a medical assistant. The stories she tells about the old guys (late 80s and early 90s) who are widowers who call the office frantic for a refill of Viagra or Cialis on Fridays right before the office closes for the weekend make my head swirl.

Beats me. Never known someone to use it

helping isolated seniors just out of hospital beds to avoid malnutrition & maybe re-hospitallization by slipping them a warm balanced meal is probably a winning economic proposition. & as you note it won't be something done for everybody.

But make no mistake; Big Food & Big Pharma have been working on "medical foods" -- and on getting paid for making such things -- for several years in advance of this policy change
