Did any of you have mentors when you started or were you on your own to learn everything?

I started with an agency. No mentor, but I did have a manager and an office guy that I could always call on with questions when I was out running appointments.
It really helped learn quite a bit being in the field, running into problems, figuring out the answer on the spot. I am also the type of person that was not afraid to call them 10-20 times a day if need be with my questions. If you start out timid, it will be tough. Don't be afraid to ask a ton of questions.

My mentors were my managers. Well with taking reduced commissions.

My father was a GA with several life companies. He trained me in 1976. I originally was a life agent. The last life policy I sold was in 1992. Now just health.
