Mini-COBRA is Coming to PA

The PA House and Senate have both passed measures to implement a mini-COBRA plan for companies that have 2 to 19 employees. PA will join the 40 other states that already have them. The bill is in the Senate now to work out the minor differences with the House version and should be ready for Governor Rendell's signature by the middle of May.

This is being done to take advantage of the COBRA subsidy that is in the works from the Feds.

Here in IL it's a 9 month state continuation, and it's subsidy-eligible as well.

Speaking of, I need to find out if commissions are paid based on the total premium (including subsidy), or if the carriers will just keep the subsidy money and not share.
