Go watch a video about what happens to a body during a motorcycle accident and then go to the ER and find out what it costs then come back and ask this question again.

Also, find out how often these happen compared to cars.

Also to answer your question a bit more. The cost of medical related expense in NY is higher so that may be part of the reason
