Mutual of Omaha

It's been said over and over again, "it's not the company but the manager who will break or make you". If you're not getting the proper training you need, why even stick around? Go someplace else where you can get the training needed, captive or otherwise.

In other words, f*ck em.

Who really offers sales training anyway? Most managers don't show you how to do better, they just tell you to hang in there and hope you'll do better, it's crap, mostly.

This is why I've had a career in sales training over the last two years and why I originally got shredded because it was assumed I could be one of the rah rah type of managers who sales people have no respect for.

:1err:

Orphan policy holders often turn out to be orphans for a reason. They let their policies lapse causing charge backs. They probably bankrupted the previous agent. Invest in creating your own leads and leave no doubt on who owns the business.

Right on! I couldn't agree more.

I've had two calls today from new United of Omaha Medicare supplement clients wanting to know if their policy covers cancer fully. It look like Mutual of Omaha is sending out Cancer policies to them wanting to sign up for $9.95 a month through the mail. The letter explains how expensive cancer treatments are, etc. and it may not be fully covered by your insurance whether you have group coverage, medicare, etc.

Just thought I'd give you the heads up if you're clients call asking about this

They are not the first company to try that marketing ploy.

Just about the only thing that isn't covered is their transportation, lodging and meals if they travel to a facility that is a great distance from where they live.

Unfortunately I have had many clients, I'm sure you have also, who have contracted cancer and not one of them have had out of pocket expenses for the medically approved treatment of their cancer.

Letters like that make me angry. They are simply intended to scare the client into purchasing more insurance.

I had just written this lady and told her how the plan covered all of the deductibles and copays to Medicare, then she gets the letter making her question what I wrote her. I reassured her that Medicare and the Medicare supplement policy would take care of specialists visits, chemo, mayo clinic, etc. etc.
