Over here in NY, we have potential Mayors (including that one who got busted sexting multiple times) putting out commercials about how they support single payer and want to switch NY to a single payer model. He supported the idea and even brought it to the floor before he had to resign from Congress, and basically said if he was mayor he'd make it happen.
He also cites that medicare operates on a 4% overhead, private insurers need 30%. Inaccurate on both accounts, but the idea sounds good to the low-info entitlement crowd.
