New Agency

I want to start my own agency in North Carolina. How would I get started? And where can I find the information to get started?

Sorry to be blunt but if you don't know how to start an agency you probably shouldn't.

Assuming you want real answers, we need:

1. What type of agency
2. How long have you been in the business
3. What licenses do you hold
4. Are you looking to be the primary producer or recruit sub-agents
5. Income/production goals
6. Do you have a business plan
7. How do you want the business structured
8. Anything else you think is relevant

Or, I'm happy to do everything to get your agency started. I sell an agency in a box for $50,000

I understand that I was vague on the first posting, but I have talked with several large companies. I just don't want to lose a book I build if I decide to eventually split into my own agency.

The idea is to learn how you become appointed to large insurance providers, when you are starting a agency.

Depending on what you want to sell, why dont you start out as an independent broker and see if you can make it in the business first?

Then after proving yourself you can think about an agency...
