New Indy Coming to P&C

Hey all,

I just passed my P&C exam and in the process of applying for my license and E&O. I am going to be an independent producer. What is my next step as far as starting work? I already have some leads I'm working on. Where can i go to find what companies I can write with or set up appointments with? I have heard Cincinnati is a good to try set with. How would i go about getting appointments with them and others? Also, since i'm going to be an Indy, how would i go about registering my trade name? Thanks for the help and suggestions in advance.

Start getting traction and maybe join a cluster or GA like insurance noodle.

Once you start building a book, the carriers will probably offer appointments directly.

I know an Indy works out of her home, she was able to get Progressive and Titan. No luck so far with any others, she has been in business 2 years now.

good luck to you though, did you ever consider SIAA?

I am looking to join a cluster or GA but not sure which one. I live in Alabama and I know some are not feasible in certain areas. Any suggestions on which to consider?
