Not sure how many of you this impacts, but on my last OS upgrade I was extremely disappointed. Mountain Lion actually had taken away features I enjoyed and significantly slowed the performance of both of my MacBook pros on even some basic tasks. I went ahead and did the OS X Mavericks upgrade (free, tough to beat on price) and figured if it got any worse I would go ahead and just buy a new machine. To my delight, it's like I had my trusty Snow Leopard again. Well, not quite, but I picked up a bunch of lost performance and both machines are purring like kittens. So if you have a mac, I'd say go for it. If it doesn't work out, you could always use the same plan B I had
