I have been an agent going on 2 years. I started captive and due to unforeseen circumstances had to switch companies quick to ensure a paycheck. I was allowed originally to see what it takes to own an agency. Since I have been running on my own and learning as I go, I decided why not get the biggest part of the pie? I am doing all the work from prospecting, sales, retention/service, marketing and business management. I have joined iiat, as well as started with their MGA to help me land carriers with no productions requirements as well as P&C carriers with production requirements. I am in the pending stage of waiting to hear from Safeco and Progressive for all P&C as well as National General for Fire products. I have been applying to other P&C companies and see whom I may land and get this up off the ground. I am located in SE Texas but looking to sell thru the entire state. Whom would you recommend for startup agencies to acquire P&C options?
