I have just passed the P&C test and have been search of a good place to start. I have been doing health and life as an independent agent for many years. Any advice would be appreciated. I am in TX and am licensed in several states.
Read any and all contracts. You may find restrictions buried in them you will not agree to.
Speak to your local independent P&C agency owners. They will probably have the carriers who are competitive in your area. You may be able to negotiate a mutually beneficial arrangement.
You will, most likely, have fewer restrictions working with a local agency and you will have local support if that is something you need.
