Non Resident Licenses

Usually dealing with state departments can be a headache. I applied for my GA license on Tuesday, had to show proof I am not an illegal immigrant, and received notification this afternoon it was approved. About 5:15 today I get around to applying in NC. Within 45 minutes i get an approval e-mail. Somehow I suspect a real live person is not involved in the process, haha. No complaints from me though, that was a pleasant surprise.

I have five non res licenses and all were very easy to acquire. some states require an extra hoop to jump through. you mentioned GA.... I think FL requires fingerprints, etc.

but for the most part, getting a non res license is just a matter of whipping out your credit card.

on the other hand, getting your carriers to activate you in some states can be tricky. especially states that have whacky laws. e.g. MI (and NY from what I've heard).

I'm on the P&C side. L&H side may or may not be different.
