Do most companies accept paramed exams done for other companies? Have a 39 year old client with controlled high blood pressure and he is 6-1 245 wanting 2 mil in coverage. Would like to put him with midland life but he is a little heavy for their preferred rating and not sure about his bp. Talked to an underwriter and if the weight is close he could get preferred. Any thoughts?

Yes, other carriers will accept other carrier's paramed exams but you will need to complete the new carrier's part b on their paper. Midland/ North American is tighter on u/w than other carriers. Check out their u/w guidelines for ht/wt. they go by the books.

To confirm, even though company A paid for the exam, they labs will be released with company B's new part B? The new HIPPA will release the labs and you will then be able to shop it around?

That's correct. Once you submit the existing exam paperwork to the new company with the new company's part b, they will have access to the lab results.

There are three main pieces to each exam.

The measurements the agent should be able to get a copy of. If you're not the agent that ordered it the paramed copy doesn't have to release it but the client can request it. Some offices will release it to any agent while others want to force another paramed so they get paid again.

The part 2 (medical questions)are very similar. But each insurance company wants this completed on their own paperwork.

Then there are the labs. The agent shouldn't be able to get these. The client can get a copy. When they can depends on the insurance company. The paramed company will release the lab slip so if you take it to another company, they use the lab slip and order (and pay) for their own copy of the lab results.

while others want to force another paramed so they get paid again.
I take exception to this comment.
First and foremost, the original company paid for this service. So another company using it amounts to theft.

And would you want your work distributed to others without payment for it?
