Part D Changes in Budget Resolution

I like anything that requires drug companies to come up with some money.

Which will be passed along to beneficiaries in the form of higher premiums, copay's and OOP.

Monkey Man. AARP is your friend. You can bet they will lobby hard to protect seniors who might be forced to give up their Medigap coverage. Carriers will also be part of the torch and pitchfork crowd.

Putting a cap on Medicare OOP will increase the costs.

For everyone, especially if the idea is to eliminate the Medigap market.

Currently the Part B 20% coinsurance continues until you get better, run out of money or die. Placing a cap means Medicare (da gubmint) will have to absorb large claims. Such as the one referenced in the link.

The GAO found one Medicare fee-for-service enrollee who ran up $3.8 million in out-of-pocket bills over an eight-year period running from 2007 through 2014.

Moving more drugs from B to D is a disaster,

Going to be a lot more folks who can't afford infusion therapy not to mention diabetics with a pump that will have to pay $400/month and more for insulin under Part D.
