Partnership with a P&C Agency - Cross Selling Life from P&C Book

There doesn't seem to have been much recent discussion about a life agent working a P&C book.

Has anyone done this?

Specifically, what commission split do you think would be fair? Assume two scenarios:
  1. The P&C agent has no "active" involvement with the process, and the life agent just works from home.
  2. The life agent uses the agency's office to make calls and set appointments. (Obviously, the P&C agent would be due a more favorable split.)

It would naturally have to be in writing and have an appropriate "script", and there be some common philosophy about service, ethics, etc.

Thank you in advance for your input.

Get it all in writing. Also, have frequent conversations about what is expected from each other.

This an opportunity you will either swear by or swear at. From personal experience and from conversations with others, it either goes fantastic or is a horrible experience.
