Any markets, specifically in CA, that will write personal umbrella for client with a DUI, AND will accept underlying auto BI of 250/500?

Every market I have checked with has either declined or require 500/500 BI when a DUI is present.

I tried searching the forums and this hasn't been addressed since 2011.

    Thanks!

Thank you. I'll double check with them again. They did not offer this as a solution and I have only seen admitted umbrella paper from them in CA. Appreciate the tip!

Agreed, but they require 500/500 for a client with a DUI. I am hoping to find a carrier that will allow 250/500.

I would personally tell the client to up the underlying to 500/500 and call it a day. He/she is getting more coverage anyway. Think you are wasting too much time on this trying to find a carrier for 250/500 with a DUI.

Totally agree. I already provided quote for 500/500, however the carriers that offer up to 500/500 are at least 200% higher premium than his current policy with 250/500.

RLI and personalumbrella.com as well. I'm pretty sure I've quoted similar situations with both.

No, but I will tomorrow morning. Thank you.

    I'll check RLI. personalumbrella.com requires 500/500.
