Has anyone applied for a non-resident business entity license in Massachusetts? Did you have to file foreign corp documents to the Sec. of state with a $500 filing fee? Something seems off....
Not sure with MA but I know some states are kind of a pain like that so marketing groups instead use an individual ID in that state. Have to do some book keeping at the end of the year but it is cheaper.
There are many states that require a foreign entity registration with the SOS before the DOI will issue a non res business entity license. Every SOS has a different filing fee.
For what its worth, make sure you get an agent for service of process that is located in the state. You will need that to complete the SOS registration (nearly certain that all states require this).
When it comes to these matters, don't ask people here. Call the DOI of whatever state you are seeking licensing in and get throughout instructions regarding their licensing requirements.
