Not necessarily. Why would I post a source that others in my area could use and devalue the resource. I could share my positive experience with one particular source but what would be my incentive?

Actually, I always wondered about that scenario. I hesitate to post some of my little secrets in Ohio for fear that someone else may use them. Although, actually, they aren't anything that a veteran couldn't figure out after a few years in the business.

I had an internet lead source a while back that I probably had a 50% + closing ratio with. Something about well screened leads, sold shared, but I was the only agent getting them. Almost no bogus leads. Someone in the company finally looked at it and apparently got another agent (or 2) in the area signed up. The other agent(s) dropped off, then they apparently quit marketing in this area, the lead volume went to almost 0. Volume never was that high anyway.

I had almost the same thing happen to me. I couldn't believe how great my return on investment was, but as you said, more agents started getting the leads and my ROI dropped and I dropped the source.

Oh, BTW, I do tons of stupid things, sometimes I learn from them sometimes I keep repeating them, I just blame it on old age and low IQ.

Why not just get your own leads? I use Netquote and they are so so.. but thinking about trying Vimo for health insurance leads.

I also use Netquote (and VIMO). In fact, I have been with NetQuote for almost a decade.
Instead of rehashing old stuff about NetQuote, you can use the "search" feature on this Board. But lately, they seem to have worked out some (most?) of the affiliate problems. But I will only use them in areas within 15-30 miles of our office...and only in selected zip codes.

I am always amazed about how much different lead suppliers vary by location. Many companies that I think are poor here in SC I hear other agents from other locations rave about. Best to try and bend the ear of someone from your business state, if they will tell you.

I am also not a big fan of net quote. I havent have much luck with any lead company, which is a shame since this is supposed to be a recurring business. You would think lead companies would do a better job. imagine getting with a good quality lead company, why would you ever drop them, instead use them every month if they were good
