I have a few thoughts.
Choosing the correct group is one of the most important decision you will make in your career post Captivity. Don't take it lightly.
Groups range from Good, Better, Best. As the consumer you get to decide what is the best fit for you. So be a good consumer and find a number of options and do some extensive homework. I love helping agents do the thing that is best for them, even if that means they don't join PGI. Don't stop at the pitch with any group. Do the hard homework. What does the contract say? What does your gut say? What does your lawyer say? What do they agents say? What do the carriers say?
We have one Customer: Our Agents
We have one Stake holder: Our Carriers
If both are taken care of Everyone wins!
Find the group that Provides:
Transparency
Carrier Alignment
Training and support
And a great contract
Consider your unique business model and ask if there are Aggregators that fit that model better than others. (A group that does back end service work for example- we don't do that. The Math on that one is the thing to consider)
