Problem Collecting Commissions from Agency

I have worked with an agency for a number of years. It's been around since the 1950's in upstate NY. I only have one client with them. I've requested for the last few of months a statement of account as I've not received any commissions from them in over a year. The broker is not responding to my e-mails nor returning my calls. Any idea on what I can do? I believe they owe me well over $500.00; possibly closer to 1k.

Small claims court is going to be the way to go.

Seriously though this happened to me before and I mentioned calling the carrier and the dept of insurance. They did send me a check out promptly. I know the DOI and carriers don't get involved with something like this but mentioning it to the agency got their attention for sure.
