Progressive Requiring 2 Years of Experience

I am a fairly new agent with one years of experience. I just got declined by progressive on the account of not having two years of experience. Everyone's been telling me that Progressive has always been that type of sign up and get appointed type. Did I mess up somewhere in between? Anyone have any experience like that?

I think it depends on your market. Progressive can be very picky in some markets, pretty open in others.

In my area now (San Francisco Bay Area), they are wanting loss runs, proof of profitability, volume commitments, marketing plans, etc. Basically, they are market saturated and not wanting to appoint a bunch of new agents any longer.

Other areas they seem to take everyone who applies.

Its not you, its them.

Don't feel bad they declined me too when we first started out agency but I really didn't care because I had gotten a couple non standard appointments and allied for preferred. In CA they aren't that competitive I've beaten every quote from them but they do write anything or take anyone so I guess that's nice.
