Looking for a Gul. Solid health otherwise. Looking 50k. He s 68yrs old. 1 bp med under control. Gen worth didn't like the increased PSA over the last 3 months. Any suggestions?

Age adjusted for 68, the normal range for PSA is up to 6.0. The 1 point move in just 3 months though is a little concerning unless you can attribute it directly to prostatitis.(You would see an Rx antibiotic.) Most underwriting manuals require a 6 month time period between observations to make a call on that PSA jump. He may have to wait a couple more months for anyone to make a call on that.

Get another psa done. Above 4 and most carriers will balk. An elevated psa has several sources that could be temporary.

I've had a client go from a decline for elevated psa to preferred best in a year with a much lower psa.

It happens. See if the applicant will try again with his doc.

Prostate infections are notorious for fast PSA changes. Lot of guys postponed for the simple lack of a course of antibiotic.
