I recently graduated in August with my BBA in Accounting. I am currently looking at a job prospect of starting out as a State Farm Agent Team Member in Georgia. I have researched and viewed many articles/posts about the insurance field's jobs/careers. My plan is if I am hired there is to obtain my licensing and either pursue a career as a Agent or a Underwriter. I am interested in hearing any advice/guidance on what to do in the early years to obtain these goals in the most efficient way possible. Thank you.

Being an agent has nothing to do with being an underwriter. I personally have never heard of an agent becoming an underwriter.

Since you have an accounting degree you could look at taking the tests that lead to becoming an actuary. Actuaries make great money and they all seem to like their jobs.

I thought accountants had too much personality to be an actuary?
