What are some of the tools you use to get replacement costs?

If you are giving them a quick quote ask for current Dwelling limit, give it a ball park such as value or purchase price. If you need one for the most accurate quote or one that will be issued then most companies have one built in or will give you access to one.

I live and write business in an area where construction costs are uniquely high. The replacement cost estimators are notoriously inaccurate in this area, so I have a pretty good idea of square foot cost by area, and construction style. I use that and ignore the technology. That has proven to be the most accurate.
