Residual Income

I know we all think this is a great business with unlimited earning potential-residual. If you all had to find a new line of work what area would interest you. What other industries offer residual income?? When the messiah is elected this might be something we will have to think about...

Federal elected officials have a terrific residual income. Apparently no experience necessary.

I don't THINK they want to put the entire insurance sales industry out of work. But ya never know.

Actually... can we get a Canadian agents opinion in here? From what I've heard selling medical gap insurance (not medicare supplements, but insurance to pay what the national health plan does not) is a big market. Supplemental cancer, heart, disability are big up there.

They are trying to make the medical gap or supplemental medical market- a big market here in the USA as well, so many big companies do not sell major med any more, however, they will sell you CI, gap plans, accident, hospital indemnity. It is a big market right now, with all the big deductibles and co-pays and such. Correction: Not trying to, it already "is".

They want the client to go out and get health ins elswhere, then they will sell you the gap plan. That's what these ins. companies want. I don't think they want the hassle of holding the paper on health ins. The supplemental must be more profitable. It must be.

I think either presidential candidate, either one, will have some sort of national healthcare plan. Obama will go totally socialist, McCain may make it mandated that employers have to offer it, but either way: there will be a booming market for supplemental and gap plans.

the producer,

Thanks for bringing up what we might have to think about. You are very considerate.

However, from reading some of your other posts here, it seems to me that we do not "all think this is a great business"...

You seem to overgeneralizing so much. You use the words "all" and "most" and "every" so much it seems you don't care much about your own thought process.

For you to give me warning of what we may need think about doesn't give much credibility.

You must want to give McCain supporters a bad name.?.

Is that your agenda here or what?

IT, alarm monitoring companies, and (if your not afraid of sh***y work, no pun intended) septic system installation companies have all residualized their respective businesses via maintenance contracts, etc.

I would probably move more into life insurance and P&C. After working 20 years in the music industry and watching all of these famous people around make huge bank on residuals, I fell in love with that idea and now I do well with them. I think I would have a hard time letting go of that. But I still own two other businesses that I could go back and work at, but why would I want to do that?
