Got the email yesterday that Titan is going bye bye in a few months. What would be another good company to use for non-standard in NY. The email said you can opt in for a Nat Gen quote to be sent out on your behalf, but half these people Nat Gen doesn't even want and they all tend to owe Progressive money.

I wonder if AIC Agency Insurance Company writes in NY. We received same email about Titan no personal or commercial any longer starting in March 2017.

too many people make the mistake of switching insurance companies in the middle of the policy period without notifying the old company to cancel the old policy... instead, they just let it lapse on its own for non-payment. this is what triggers the problem a lot of times.
most non standard companies will let drivers get away with that, and let them start a new policy without paying any prior balance owed. but Progressive will not let drivers start a new policy until the previous balance is paid in full. most non standard clients can not get that much cash together to both pay for an old balance and a down payment on a new policy.

Titan was bought out by Nationwide who is exiting the non-standard market in the next few months, all in force policies will be non-renewed
