I’m an agent in NC but need to get appointed with a standard carrier in SC who does not require a storefront office or an office in that state. My office is in NC but can’t write in SC without using a brokerage currently.
 
Safeco is fine with it so long as you have agency license in nonres state
Thanks for the reply! I’ve heard that. They will not appoint me in NC just yet because of non competitive pricing and because I don’t have a storefront. Kind of hard to get to the point of affording it without the chance to do it!
 
Then your options are few. Travelers may or may not, but they are not a committed partner. I've resolved to not do business with them. Nationwide will want a huge commitment. State Auto is holding off on appointments altogether while they are working out the bugs in their new system. There are a couple others that will want the physical office. I've heard Kemper is back but not sure their take on your scenario.
