Seasoned Agent Unsure of my Options...please Help!

I like the suggested ideas...Since I've only been writing L&H lines of insurance 6 years, in retrospect I would have worked my normal job and would have met with family/friends/neighbors for initials sales, then cold calling from there. Started under my father's agency and basically "mostly" happily stuck in it now. Even so, I had to cold call for two years and had my fill of it, thankfully had enough clients to work off of at that point. Now that health sales and MA prime seasons are over, time to focus on life/LTC sales. Life sales are nice, but Med Supps offer a steady base of renewal income. Keep the range of services wide open to relevant sales seasons.

The best list of prospects is the one you make yourself and that communicate with each other somehow.

I'd recommend the following for you:

1. Focus on one thing to sell.
2. Identify what who buys it looks like.
3. Compile a list of the prospects.
4. Call them every couple of months.
5. Eventually, someone will buy.
6. Now you got a name to drop.
7. Repeat.

I am big believer in the worksite marketing business. I started selling individually and moved into the worksite market.

I used the strategy above to build my book.

Good luck on your venture!
