Minnesota Insurance Agents Personal Information Compromised

"Two reviews are planned of MNsure, the state's new online health insurance exchange, after an employee accidentally distributed confidential information about more than 2,400 insurance agents."

Full Story: MNsure employee's email breaches security

A large (for a state) security breach even before the Exchange goes live and starts collecting and processing personal information on hundreds of thousands of people in Minnesota.

Its going to be a gold mine for these folks. All of these systems that were thrown together filled with information are an easy target.

Most data breaches occur because of something stupid done by employees inside the firewall.

One solution to this problem is . . . . to buy OFF exchange.

Yes indeed Somarco. We can add "Improved Security of Your Personal Information" to the growing list of reasons to by off-exchange, if you're clearly not subsidy eligible:

    1. No Interaction with the Federal Government
    2. Potentially Lower Premiums
    3. Larger Provider Network
    4. And now... Improved Security of your Personal Information.
