I've been with SL since 2010. They are not captive unless you are on their lead program. They don't do MIB's unless the face amount is over $20k.
Commissions are not low as was quoted above. It's like any other opportunity, your commission % is determined by the immediate upline.

I've seen tons of SL recruiters & have never seen anything close to a 115. That's definitely not the norm.

But still low considering there are several carriers that'll allow an agent to get 130% contracts without proof of production. & the rates are way better lol

Best I’ve seen offered with SL is 105% w/3-5% renewals. Gotta assume 125% is probably the recruiters contract that’s offering said 105.
