SilverCare Insurance. Anyone have experience with them?

This agency sets Medicare Advantage appointments for agents and offers good commissions. Has anyone worked with them before?

Are they in the San Jose, CA, area? I worked for a Silver Care agency there two years ago. They promised appointments with people on MediCal throughout the year. The appointments held up. Only problem was that everyone was happy with their doctor and no one saw the advantage of switching.

I know they are based in the central valley, but I'm not sure if they have an office in San Jose. I know they do business with agents all over CA. Agents sell MA plans to seniors all day long, if they are serious about setting the appointments, all you got to do is sell them.

I am investigating this, too. What I don't like is that I have to pay $200.00 just to work for them, and then another $100.00 to take the Medicare AHIP test...what's up with that?

I didn't really understand that $200 thing. The contract seems to say it gets taken from your first commission check. I don't know about your experience, but the agency contract seems to be poorly written. No offense to the agency, but a professional should probably rewrite it for their protection and the confidence of others.

The most concerning part of the contract is where you must acknowledge that stealing employees or clients will cause damages and you have to agree to the damages. I've seen a lot of agency contracts in my life and I've never seen a contract like this. They may have experienced this in the past, but I don't feel comfortable with signing something like that.

You would seriously contract with an agent/agency that has been licensed in California for a whole 8 months?

That's what it seems like. Perhaps the corporation was just created 8 months ago, and the owner/agent was operating as a sole prop or other entity before.

Being an ex-agent for NY Life, I loved the idea of prospects being fed to me, however, I became extremely suspicious of this company after I attended their "Webinar", completed the online registration form and then never heard anything back from them. I called and emailed them several times over 2 weeks and finally spoke with someone. They are a very disorganized group. I am taking your advice and staying away from this one. Thank you very much!

Hello,

Anymore information on Silvercare?

They sent me an e-mail trying to recruit me and I wanted to know the "scoop" on them.

Thanks!

I am also looking into this but do they really get you the appointments as promised.

They told me that they have in business for 10 yrs but the DOI says in business since 2008.
And they say they have 400 agents which does not sound believeable.
The IHIPA test is $100 ok that I understand because they do not charge for that. It is IHIP who is charging for it.
But do they really set the appointments for the agents and why would they make the agents self employed and not employees?
Anyone have a good experience with them?:idea:
