The carrier did not go bankrupt but they lost their butt on health insurance. Big difference.

Yes, Assurant went bankrupt for the individual health. An inside director told me they were worth negative so many tens of millions of dollars nobody even proposed an offer... That's sad, as they were an amazing carrier...and paid 7.5% commissions this year in WA state.

I dont know. You could probably do some research on your own and find out if you really want to. I was contracted through Time Insurance. All I know is that they aren't selling individual health plans anymore.

It's because it's a secret. No one was supposed to know.

Anyway, carriers are taken over by the DOI before any liquidation occurs. This is for 404's edification.
