Stop the Emails

How do I stop getting the emails that say I'm subscribed to a forum? Just too many of them.

Go into your User Contol Panel > Edit Options > Messaging & Notification > Default Subscription Mode> then select No Email Notification

Save Changes at bottom.

LOL!!! When I posted this it was my 50th post. Ironically - apparently now I'm a Super Genius, not just an Expert! Too Funny...

Thank you super genius!

You can choose which threads to receive emails about if you do not want to stop them all. There is also a link in each thread subscription to unsubscribe. Once you click on that link, you will not get anymore emails about that thread.

Hey Goose!
I know you are a former blue collar guy. I AM STILL a blue collar guy. I am trying to break open into this industry, but the time brother, the time. I work 60-70 hours per week. I was wondering if you could give me a little insight as to how you made your transition. Any advice would be appreciated.

I didn't attend classes to get my license. I did a self study course. I had a satchel type lunch bag that I used to sneak my study book to the quarry everyday. I would study every chance I got. I was working 56-58 hours a week.

After I got licensed, I was hired by Combined Worksite in October 2012. I got a starting 12 week salary plus commission. I made 17k my first 3 months.

Then January came. My salary ran out and I started running out of local companies to sell to. I started selling some FE and other life on the side. Plus I was doing some enrollments for other carriers, $225 a day flat rate. I quit Combined in October 2013. I scraped by making only 26k in 2013. It was rough.

I decided I would hook up with FEX and concentrate on FE this year. I started buying leads and take Travis Tubbs and John Duggers advice on how to run my business. I had a slow start as it takes awhile for leads to start coming in. I've done 16k in AP this year so far. I'm behind pace of my goal for 2014 which is 120k AP, but I'll catch up.

So that's my story and here's some advice.

First off, only take advice from someone who is doing what you want to do. Find an actual producer to be your mentor. Not a manager or marketer.

It would be ideal to have 6 months of living expenses saved up before you jump ship. Last year put a huge strain on my marriage and family, the more cushion you have the better.

Be sure to open a separate checking account for all your commissions. Then give yourself a paycheck out of that account every week. You're used to having that paycheck every Friday. This is a must.

Pick a market and go with it. (Not worksite. Tough gig.) Laser focus. I almost fell into the trap of wanting to be a one stop shop. Be a specialist.

Don't spend a lifetime preparing. Learn as you go. Don't be afraid to tell a potential client that you don't know something. But always find the answer. People appreciate honesty.

And pray.

Good luck.

Great advice, Dusted Duck. Sounds like you're headed in the right direction now. Hope you hit your goal for 2014! You're one up on many, just for setting the goal and trying to achieve it.
