A PDP says it has Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplemental generic gap coverage. What exactly does that mean?

It means they cover tier 1 and tier 2 through the gap. If you don't sell PDPs this will mean nothing to you.

If you do sell them, then you should already know.

In 2016, Medicare will pay 42% of the price for generic drugs during the coverage gap. You pay 58%.
Some Part D plans offer generic coverage during the coverage gap.
Hopefully, you are asking this question, and, not Part D certified.
