Temporary housing reimbursement by insurance company

Hi, I am wondering if insurance company will try to get temporary housing reimbursement from contractors who cause water damage to their client; the damage resulting in the client's having to rent an apartment while things get sorted out?

The only time your insurance company will seek reimbursement of anything from the at-fault contractor is when your insurance company pays you for your loss and then subrogates.

If you incurred the cost of temporary substitute lodging while your home was being repaired after the water damage occurred and your company paid you for that cost under your Additional Living Expenses coverage, then your company will seek reimbursement for that along with all of the other costs that the company pays you on your claim.

If something other than that is in question you'll need to provide more details.
