Insurnace is discontinuing its short term medical product effective 6/1/2012.

Can you hear a pin drop? I thought if I liked my Celtic short term medical President Obama said I could keep it?

I want to keep my Celtic short term medical plan because Celtic just rocks.

Actually, I write a few for "child only" situations. Otherwise, their rates are pretty high.

IIRC, seems like there are lots of loopholes in these plans, aren't there? I only write health by accident these days, but back then it seems like not only was it $$$, but it had a lot of conditions and such. Could be wrong though.

Hate to say it, but they are making a smart move. I see ST being VERY popular come 2013 as a bridge to exchange product. Makes sense in a lot of situations.

Ex: Anyone healthy coming off a group plan. They have to buy a Non GF plan, and the exchange will dictate what they pay and get anyway in 2014.

Anyone with a GF plan with years of rate ups and mid/lower income, why not move to ST and be subject to the exchange and subsidies if health is decent or better. Or, those of you out there that think GF is going to blow up anyway, why keep it.
