Just wrote 2 med supp apps with Transamerica Premier Life. Underwriting wants
    -- proof of current insurance
    -- type of plan
-- bank statement proving policy is currently active

I find these unreasonable since the other companies I represent do NOT require any of these.

What are your thoughts and experiences?

I take it this is for the California Birthday Rule. If so this is completely normal for Transamerica.

You're right, goillini52. However, they have one of the lowest rates in Calif for med supps which is why I got contracted with them.

Yes, it was for the California Birthday Rule. But the other med supp companies do not require this even for the Calif Birthday Rule.

Does this apply for all apps I will submit to Transamerica? Have a call in to both underwriting and sales but have not heard back from either.

Their rates are pretty good, but sometimes it's just not worth putting up with a company's antics and it certainly isn't worth getting your client involved with a company that consistently shows it doesn't know what they are doing.

Well, if they're going to be a PITA, I'd sure try to find someone else to use.

When I was shopping for MedSupp Transamerica had a relatively low rate in my state but no agents other than the two who wanted to sell me a Transamerica policy encouraged me to consider that particular carrier.
