Occasionally I get leads that have TRICARE benefits. Are there any gaps in their senior health coverage that can addressed by an insurance product? Or better to just let them be on their merry way?

You have Tri-Care? That's all you need. Don't let anyone like me sell you anything. If you know anyone who does't have your great benefits, I'd appreciate an introduction.

My Mom has Tricare for Life. Pretty good Rx benefits esp. when using an on-base pharmacy. It's secondary to Medicare; never sees a doctor's bill.

How about CHAMPVA?

I've had some regular VA benefits members enroll in MA only and MAPD plans.

I had a prospect recently with CHAMPUS VA who was insisting I enroll her in an MA plan because she wanted the free gym membership.I had to call champus so she could hear for herself how good her coverage was.I did find out that champus will coordinate medical benefits with an MA only plan and pay the copays however there is still the network issue.she was a very high utilizer with 7 different specialist so luckily I was able to talk her out of it however it could possibly work for some.

Never waste a lead!

Take the Medicare/Healthcare coverage questions out of your presentation once you warm up with them and you find out about their Tricare coverage.

Then, focus on specialty insurances like cancer/heart and stroke lump sum policies for them to have extra funds and the option to travel to the Mayo Clinic or other top rated hospital for their treatment.

If they travel, let them know about the MASA travel insurance for emergency travel, ambulance and helicopter.

Single premium life insurance works well for seniors with money in the bank for the funeral costs, and are more favorable to heirs tax-wise.

Also, the kids and grand kids may need life policies etc.

These folks know all kinds of people for referrals. If you build a relationship with them you will reap the benefits.
