I am thankful that President Trump only won the "We the People Vote" by the narrowest margin in 20 years, about 1.6%; the Electoral College was formed since the common people were not smart enough vs the elites and landowners.
The positive side of the chaos to come is hopefully deregulation in many areas

The electoral college was founded so the large cities and states did not have all the power. Heaven help us if the entire country was like San Francisco, Detroit, Chicago, etc.

You mean it was a compromise demanded by slave holding states so they could ensure slavery remained legal. (James Madison's words, written for all to see)
And the current form of electoral college is drastically different than the original form.
The modern form strips away power that was once held by voters, and gives it to the rich elites who control state political parties.
